It is my pleasure to introduce...Jack Edward Miller

So, there you have it. Deborah and I are having a Boy. As I write this, my excitement grows. Deborah and I have already started preparing his room and our plans for his college. (JK on the college). This news is so incredible. When her Opa found out we named Jack after him, he was honored and moved. I thank God for His grace in allowing us to become parents. I have wanted this for almost 20 yrs now. And when I found out our baby is a boy, it certainly makes me want to become a better man. I really have evaluated my priorities. I may have different feelings in the future, but for now I feel glad to have someone else to think about other than myself. Deborah and I are blessed. We pray that God's hand would be on our household as a whole, and on each one of us as we are transformed into God's image.

Boy or Girl?

So, Deborah and I find out tomorrow if our new baby is a boy or girl. People keep asking what we want. Isn't that the question everyone gets?

"So, what are you hoping for?" "Well, I don't know. I was hoping for a pot of gold to be delivered on March 1st, but I think we'll have to settle for a baby. Preferably human, but we would love it all the same!"

Think about it. My child is sitting there one day at the dinner table, and as I look at my son (in this case), I say "Son, did you know that before you were born, we REALLY hoped you would be a girl. Or pot o'gold. But, I guess you'll have to do....I love you son."

For serious, I am saying No Comment to that question. God has a plan for us. And He has a plan for our baby. I just hope I can be a good steward of what God has chosen by His sovereignty to bless Deborah and I with. I used to be so fearful that something would be abnormal with my child, but I sincerely trust that God has a plan. And with a wife like Deborah, with her heart of compassion and love, I have no doubt that our family will be taken care of.
